The sound’s naked color falls,
Shriveled, to a brook, down small waterfalls
Of large rocks, transparent beneath
The gleaming current.
The rubber dusk-mask
Darkens against the poles
Of the magnetic waves, pulling
Night away from the day like
A mask for birthday parties, the strap
Breaking during the fall to the flowing
