The Dawn’s Arrival
Mark Fleury
The dawn’s arrival
Is night’s pain after
The growth of evening
Is peeled away. Underneath
Lies an animal made of
A unified rage against
Power from hatred.
Youth is an ape living
In every where’s x-ray,
With a body raw as an island.
Today and tomorrow contain the
Kernel of every noise, twisting
Most oranges’ reasons for their ink-like
Mouth-watering easts, untouched,
Leaved, still, branched, into rain.
