& breathe
over&over again
like some tiny bellows
sparkling fire
by sucking air.
Someday, when I am
gone, or too old to care,
another hand will
accidently find these words,
snatch them from the air,
stop suck them in
expecting a bitter acridness,
the staleness of old pipe
clenched between yellowed teeth.

These words will speak, hollowly,
then ripen like grapes left
too long under the glaring sun;
swell, elongate, stretch elastic
thin inside your brain,
fill it to a tidal overflow
sans frosted bite of ice.
Order will return
a magical moment.
Sense will align, quicken
emotions
& these words will live
& breathe....again.
