Sonnet XXIV...day of love
J.E. Dorsey
Ah sweetheart - tis thy lips I miss truly
Their soft and gentle winds across my body blowing
Astonishing kisses - in streams affectionate to overflowing
Relentless river of love, along your banks I plant indeed
The most succulent seeds of mine
O fecund valley, where verdant forests weep
The tears of lovers, crying into the skies sublime blue
Ah sweet love, this day is ours of dancing in rainbow rooms
And long amorous kisses while walking
I shall see your face in dreams by day or night
And listen to the song of your voice melodious
Bright love, you have erupted into my life, O errant star burning
And my sweet love - the heat of your extraordinary light
Sends shivers inexhaustible, beyond our moon, to darkest night.
