Anti-Words in 3 Acts
john alan douglas
Act I
Words must have been invented by some devil.
We met
the honest feelings won us over
and
whatever the words
we wed.
Act II
Others cam to envy, fear our feelings our power
so they fashioned lies and other words
to break, pollute, corrupt
our love.
These were circulated.
Act III
Now you parrot those harassers, stalkers
lonely losers who can't or won't
gamble or commit to love
you parrot their ugliness
their words
and Cocteau mirror image
of the First Act:
whatever our true feelings
(still strong)
you weave lies, words
into an unmagical carpet
and coward fly away
to seek any lifestyle opposite ours
to wallow in drugs smoke booze
all night losers all night bores
anything anyone anywhere
to forget forget forget
our eternal honest
feelings.
