Grandmother’s unmarked grave
a barren battlefield.
not good
remaining for eternity
as a casualty buried
in an unmarked battlefield,
simply
because you’re a suicide.
Mother and her sisters
say couldn’t afford no headstone”
back then.
But what about now,
retired, living
off the fat of the land,
playing golf,
sunning themselves like
aging lizards on a rock.
