I can’t concentrate
at all on what’s going on in
this meeting. Paul’s just outlined
all the items on the 1996
Sales Activities Prioritization list,
and now Scott’s going on and on
about product conversions/upgrades
and contracts development objectives.
All I can think about
is that Logan International Airport
is closed this afternoon because
of the “storm of the century.”
It may re-open again after
5, my flight still leaving
this evening, but probably not.
Looks like I’m
stuck here in Houston in this
damn Marriott for another night.
Should I eat in my room,
relaxed and watching TV, do
some reading, drink a little wine?
Or should I dine out
with AnnaMarie, who’s also
stranded here? I don’t
know her, she’s new with the company,
but I understand she’s divorced,
and she’s wearing this damn
tight red top showing off her
rather abundant bosom, and she’s
pretty too, with big brown eyes
and wild hair, with long legs
and luscious looking hips. I could
eat with her and get
to know her, carrying on soft
conversations in a candlelit corner
about her likes and dislikes,
her philosophies of life.
My decision seems clearer the more
I think this through, I’ve always
gotten into trouble
when I’ve tempted the Fates.
