BALLS OF FIRE

BY PAUL L. GLAZE

It Happened One Night Many Years Ago.
Trains Of Rain, As Harsh Winds Blow.
In An Old House, Not Very Water Proof
Sat A Man And His Family Under A Tin Roof.

Facing The Lightening, Rain And Thunder,
Not Grounded, Was The Roof They Were Under.
Out And About, Hard Rain Was Glancing
Thunder Booming, With Lightening Dancing.

Children Were Afraid Of This Terrible Storm
They Knelt Together, To Save Them From Harm.
Grandfather Ray Sat Relaxed In His Chair.
Somewhat Comfortable, Not Showing A Scare.

Then Suddenly, Out Of This Stormy Night
A Ball Of Lightening Entered In Flight.
The Family Sensed A Spell Of Doom
As Lightening Danced Thru Out The Room.

Grandfather Ray, In A Stance So Bold
Brought The Lightening Under Control.
His Stance Was Strong As A Mighty Man
He Caught That Ball With His Bare Hand.

As He Rubbed His Two Hands, It Dissipated
The Ball Of Lightening Then Evaporated.
Grandfather Ray, As The Head Of Our Clan,
Was Somewhat Different, A Special Man.

A Normal Man Would Be Electrocuted
Doing This Deed That He Executed,
A Very Strange Man Was Grandfather Ray
For Strange Events Often Came His Way.
