N I G H T F L I G H T

By Paul L. Glaze (c)1995

I Took A Trip One Fateful Night
Across The Galaxy In Astral Flight
I Noticed A Planet Far Down Below.
Then Drifted Toward It And Began To Slow.

This Planet Was Plain, With Colors So Few.
Its Waters Were Darken, A Midnight Blue.
In Silence I Shimmered Along The Ground.
I Noticed Beings Were Moving Around.

Buildings Were Colorless, A Hint Of Gray.
Their Structural Supports Seem To Go Astray .
I Observed These Entities Moving Around.
When They Spoke, There Was No Sound.

My Appearance Drew Sparse Attention,
As I Was Observing From Another Dimension.
However My Presence, Wherever I'd Go.
Seemed To Upset Their Status Quo.

There Was Something Strange Moving Around
They Knew Not What, But It Had To Be Found.
I Had No Intention Of Creating A Scene.
To Frighten These Being As Mean Or Unclean

I Was Not Accustomed To Strange Exposure
There Was Danger I Was Losing My Composure
It Was Apparent I Would Soon Have To Depart
A Force Was Pulling My Will Apart.

I Knew When I Left I Would Never Return
I Fought To Remain, To Observe And Learn
This Was Wishful Thinking, As I Had No Power
To Remain One Second, A Minute, Or Hour.

Swiftly I Returned And In A Moment Or Two
My Astral Flight Was Completely Through
I Was Sorry My Journey Had Ended So Soon
As I Felt The Presence Of My Earthly Room.

A Celestial Meeting, I Had Hoped To Arrange
With These Alien Beings Who Were So Strange
Their Bodies Were Not Of Human Structure
They Had No Eyes Or Nasal Rupture.

Their Bodies Were Brown With A Tannish Hue
Structured In Lines, As Rows Of Bamboo
Deep Vertical Ridges Made Up Their Faces
Continuous Bridges With Very Straight Bases.

They Walk In A Shuffle, Somewhat Slow
Long Robes Were Worn Wherever They'd Go
Their Arms Were Flexible With Easy Motion
No Expressions Were Made Of Any Emotion

On Another Excursion I Would Like To Go
How To Find Their Planet, I Do Not Know
Do They Really Exist ? I Have No Clue
These Strange Life Forms Of Living Bamboo.
