SONNET FOR MODERN MAN

In rearranging concepts of our fate
When needs arise unmet by previous plan,
Our human nature tends to speculate
On 'market idols', speciously to scan
All facets showing possiblity
For insight to be gained from sense or seer.
Yet all endeavor is debility
With lack of fundamental premise clear.
The ground of wisdom stil unrecognized,
Unsought, in spite of logic's labor spent.
No intellect delivers truth uncompromised.
Mere casuistry caps sound experiment.
Thus I on God's inchoate thought depend...
The first and final cause of all I apprehend.
