Your tolerance for me is that
of a daughter's:
a sort of obliged love,
not really felt, nor wanted,
nor willingly offered,
but none the less present.
We are both ill
from this persistence:
I could paint you colours
& I could paint you blacks,
but there is no recognition
and there is no fulfillment.
You are my daughter
and I will cry
the day you are gone.
