Pines may bend,
but even the strongest
oaks
fall.
And this maple
has the weight
of years of sap
untapped.
And so I fell.
And you may pull
but upright
is violation
of gravity
and slowly
cracked and soiled
yellow buckets
carried miles (and maybe
low-esteemed by age,
self-considered waste)
will be filled by my aging;
not bent, but fallen.
