The First Time

A full face spitting down on me,
playing tricks
on glass
and watching
the same explosion of clouds
as I, but from
a different
perspective.
Most people run away from such things,
but beauty
does not scare me
like it should.
Further from the centre of gravity
I find pieces
of control
and morality.
I once asked an old man “How will I know
when finally
I find
true love?”
He replied “Believe me, you’ll know:
it will feel
exactly like
the first time.”
