in some ways, english is a jigsaw puzzle
with lots of missing pieces...
for instance, there are words like 'snarl'
& 'snort'&'hiss'&'chuckle',
'sigh'&'sob'&'hoot'&'spit'
&'growl'&plenty of other
words for sounds that people make,
so why is there no word attached
to that softly explosive, petulant
schoolgirlish exhalation
of exasperated indignation
commonly produced
by adolescents
of all ages
in the face of the failure
of the world to give them
what they wanted,
or when it has the temerity
to give them what they
didn't want?
i like this sound of
spoiled young soul,
unscarred by responsibility,
unscared of expressing defiantly
shallow dissatisfaction.
someone should make
a word for this...
