here i am bleeding & drinking,
but i am not an alcoholic -

i am only a poet
who allows himself

to be wounded
almost continually

in the intrests
of art & science.

this isn’t vodka,
siblings:

this is medicine,

& it’s an antibiotic,
not an anesthetic.
