When she woke up,
her husband was sitting up in bed.
He was tired.
She looked at the digital clock.
It was four-ten in the morning.
They squinted at each other in the half dark,
then he rolled over onto his side
and started to snore again.
She took a deep breath and
closed her eyes.
She had nightmares every night.
