Felicitatem Leo
By Peter Scott
Their eyes flicker in the square
The cats come roaming free
Prancing with grace for all to see
They streak to the gazebo
Wander from its gates
Fur glistening
Perfection from the lord
Like harbingers
Tabbies take the forefront
Commanding in number
Unequivocal in beauty
Rising with great presence
And a plan
Moving upon the steps of judice
Orchestrating feline legions
In their revolt
Ears suspiciously cocked
On this great day
Storm the capital
Rally unified consternation
Siamese
In all without malice
Swathed to Our Lady’s grandiloquent churchyard
Silently in-took steep
Weather-warn steps
Thousands individually filing in reverence to the pew
Or was it a meticulous stratagem
By her commanding the echelons?
Now situated over and upon the alter
Venom twisting a neurological bombardment
Of deviant
Revolutionary principles
Preached in conquest with the crowd
All as one
As the lord instructed
Rightfully theirs
Properly righteous
Cat’s kingdom as before.
