Love is the Only Recourse
By Peter Scott
Once there was I
A person amongst mortals
Worrying for life
Ignoring death
Planted there
Sitting stagnant
Drifting off
Away from company based firmly in reality
With spirit cast
Immobile and to the ground
True of a shadow
Expressionless in
No world but one
You helped me leave
Held up the sign
Flashing your acceptance
Told me not to cringe
For I was alright
Never playing with the odds
How close was I to oblivion?
Made me feel elation and
Happiness
Cared to see me content
Someone I call friend
Hollow only in number.
