Polarity
By Peter Scott
Breakdown
Civil disobedience of the body
Rational in thought
Defiant in action
A system created
Organized in execution
Of action
A synthesis of reality and
Future
Or body and mind
Accumulating in life
The human experience
Constant as perceptions
Regardless of balance
Or synergy
As humans we are subjected to
Disjointed collections
Of Individualism
From a pair
Acting selfishly
Jousting for dominance
And when unity reigns
It is the fruits of our labor
In temperance and forbearance
The relentless search
For perfection
Lately the present
Has lapsed through and to
A great hole
Plodding into the center
Curled into a tight ball
Pressing the shadows about
In an attempt to implode from the world
Abdicating its stature in the earthen right
And duty
This hostile retreat came without warning
Stranded the future
Or mind
Left to contemplate what it might achieve
Where it might fall
Now that there was no synergy
With the vehicle gone
Lurching ever deeper
Toward destruction
Oh, the future is explicitly linked
To current state of affairs
Left coping
Hoping for a resurgence
Inevitable as it may be
Orphaned to chaos, the
Future
Or thought process
Reeks of foul reality
'So panics
How can it succeed?
Without the body
Hindered with every action
Yet cursed to stability
Motionless
And an observer
To the black plague the present endorses
In its flight
Ragged in equilibrium
Caught in singular personality
The overcompensating dreamer
Staggers about duty
Flogging any birth of polar return
Hinders and holds
Crisis from rest
Hyperventilating
In cold seclusion of the mind.
