He winces at my pain
Tears when I cry
Answers my thoughts
Understands the fears
Consoling them all away
He doesn't obey the words
Empathy is his guide
Sometimes it scares me
Sends shudders racing through the spine
His caress is just right
Compromising pseudo-principles
Falsehoods I dare not touch
At the same time his essence
Enriches my personality
Gives me confidence
And love
Two emotions
I'd lived too long without.
