Truth and Lies
Tori L. Wilfred
In the garden of amnesia
Daisies grow to cover the land
until
rats tear at the hearts of them;
Above, hawks
circle, waiting
in the mindless air
to feast on the writhing food.
Heavy wings bring the birds
to the ground,
to remove the
destroyers.
The meal is done;
growing continues.
