Wanted to name the baby,
but her tongue had been cut out.

Wanted to walk in the rain,
and so I gave her the funeral crown
to cover her head.

I gave her a basket of
broken hands.

An ocean of blood.

Tried to make her smile,
but no longer had the gift.
