since then the emptiness
the rotten fruit of a father’s dream

Awakened I am sick
and wish to be blind

and only such
because its beautiful truth is best ignored

Fuck off — I’m angry,
and wish to die,
because I’m tired of living life
as though there may be another to live later—

or something to pass the time

That’s what I really want to say —
What everybody actually has is
simply something to pass the time -
life as a good book

I know it’s been said before
and in much better verse
but it’s ignored and I’m angry!

Fuck. I’ve got to make something of myself.
Fuck. I long to be out of my head.
Mad,
and therefore
excusably lethargic.
