The Path

The journey often seems endless
The path has been hard and long
Not all could make a trip like this
You need to be determined and strong.
Following your heart isn’t always easy
The demons come to make you stray
But even in the disguise of your friends
You recognize them, so on the path you stay.
They try every trick they can think of on you
Every moment of your life you must be on guard
Always the chance they are betraying you again
Believing in only the ONE is often hard.
But, the ONE has never led you from your path
In fact the ONE has always lighted your way
Showing you all the tricky curves in the road
While keeping all the wolves at bay.
Offering you all that is yours to grab from life
The ONE is always watching after your heart
Never forcing you to be in any way different
Than you really were at the start.
So, why is this journey so important to make
If we are at the end what we were at the start
It’s because who we are has been buried so long
And it takes
