Carver of Valentines

Beth Gibson

Everyday as before
I wake up
But, this time I slam my door
Last night I lost my love
I cry but then I think
I should beat him at his own game
That night at his basketball game
I was with another guy
I know he’s jealous
By the way he’s looking at me
But, the guy I am with
His name is Christian, Christian Carver
He’s dark and new
When something went wrong
He’s the one everyone looks to
The one who is always in trouble
I guess he fell in love with me that night
He treated me like a queen
But, all that turned into a big fright
The was he did it made everyone turn green
During half-time I went to get something to eat
I never knew I would be beat
Christian walked up to me
And kissed my cheek
I turned to say
I don’t like you
I used you
To get my ex mad
His eyes went black
I should have learned not to turn my back
He grabbed me
And threw me down the hall
Then into a wall
My ex knew something was wrong
When I didn’t return after the stupid cheerleaders song
He went into the hall
And saw my blood on the wall
Carver of Valentines cont....
He ran down the corridor
Following the trail of blood
He walked up to the classroom
And pushed open the door
Seeing more blood on the floor
He looked around the room
To the teachers chair
His mouth fell open and couldn’t breathe any air
He found my body
I was wearing my tan tank top and my black mini skirt
On my chest there was a carving
It said:
“Be mine
Forever Valentine!”
The day of love
The night of delight
It was those for little words
Which didn’t sing from the birds
“Be mine
Forever Valentine!”
