It hurts today
My pain feels as a knife
That is piercing my heart
But, my grief is too thick to cut
It hurts today
My eyelids burn
With salty liquid
Tears are forming
And sting my cheeks with loss
It hurts today
My heart is like a voice
That's lost its power to speak out
It sings no songs
And tells no tales
And speaks no words
For there is nothing left to say
It hurts today
It hurt yesterday too
I wonder if
Will it hurt tomorrow?
