Freedom and Strength
Pilosophically speaking, freedom is strength:
it is the power-- it is a virtue-- and ultimately a supreme goal. For if you are free, then you are strong.
The question then is how does a human become free?
There may be many different theories but most agree
that to be free is to only accept what is in our control.
For if you put weight into something that is not yours, then
you will be disappointed i.e. not free. Freedom is being able to make your own choices-- to be able to control what
you can-- and not try to control what is not yours.
And what is yours?
The will to choose and not to choose--- opinion.
This is called free will.
To put desires on things that are not in your control
will bring on slavery to such things.
All external things are out of the contol of the free will--
your parents, government, even your body.
These things are not yours to control.
By choices and opinions, I mean to do what you think is right according to “reason.”
-- this is yours and no one elses.
this is the beginnings of freedom, strength and tranquility.
