A Tentative Sketch of Everything
J. Quinn Brisben
Asymmetrical, arrhythmical,
Each particle is built from numbers but
Always feels the lazy sidelong pull
Toward chaos from the primal knot or nut
Of nothing breaking into speed of light
Electroweak and binding strong and mass
So oddly faint but oriented right
Side up for daily use, no clues, alas,
Of meaning save our wonder at the curves
And spirals, matter missing somewhere there,
But lack of certainty alerts the nerves
And drives the need to witness what is where.
Equations with their multiple unknowns:
Nothing mirroring nothing in these zones.
