Strangely I’ve
poem by Karen R. Porter
been showing up
on Z-lists
for conservationists
& animal care workers
& writers
so they can say:
See, we are inclusive!
But I’m afraid
if I show up
I won’t remember
whether to speak
on spay&neuter
or wetland fauna
or read something
from my latest collection.
It might be safer
just to hunker down
& enjoy the free food.
