CARE?
Chris Major
It’s so hot,
and there’s so much disease.
They lie in rags,
saggy skin pitched
on protruding ribs;
desperate for water
and too weak to eat,
many die sore-covered
and forgotten.
And tomorrow,
there’s more of the same,
as they helplessly wait
for dawn to break
to a chorus of
moans,
groans,
and clattering bedpans.......
