for Cissy

Met her on the message board of our favorite soap opera
(watching it is my secret vice),
and
we soon moved to a new script:
from the sporadic responses of a public forum
to the every day e-mails to each other,
kidred spirits communing in cyberspace,
her every epistle enhancing her attractiveness
until it wouldn’t have mattered what she looked like
AND THEN,
then came the picture
that put to shame any picture
in any book on the shelf
