“Twitter Inside”

poetry readings from the feature on May 21^st, 2010

Janet Kuypers called this last-minute impromptu feature at Regina’s Place in Logan Square (3608 W. Wrightwood), hosted by Vittorio Carli and Regina, “Twitter Inside“ because she started the show with travel-poems she is reading for her June 22nd feature at the Café in Chicago on her birthday called “40“, and she ended the feature with an original long poem about Warren called “Loss“ and ended it with Janet and Warren’s first original song from Mom’s Favorite Vase called “My Love For You Will Stay the Same“ (which will also be in her June 22nd feature at the Café in Chicago on her birthday called “40“), BUT sandwiched between the beginning and ending “40“ show elements she read a large number of twitter-length poems ( “tweets“), because Janet Kuypers started up a twitter account at twitter.com/janetkuypers to intentionally write very short poems (poems that are 140 characters or fewer, including punctuation and spaces). Because these twitter poems were inside Janet Kuypers’ June 22nd “40” show elements, this low-key feature, Janet Kuypers performed many poems to this live crowd, which eventually also included poets like CJ Laity (founder of chicagopoetry.com).
