“hmmm”

    “hmmm” is the Janet Kuypers 2011 poetry show (performed 11/20/11, or 20111120) at the Café (5115 North Lincoln Ave. in Chicago) on Sunday afternoon (at probably the last full-length feature Kuypers will ever perform there). This show had a select few pieces of older prose, combined with poetry written in 2009, 2010, and brand new 2011 pieces never before performed, for this live audience.
    In this show, Kuypers had a television screen with videos projecting relevant to her writings throughout her show (in addition to two small screens during the show with random art being displayed as well). In her show, she also had music — alternating with music (both live and pre-recorded) by blues guitarist John Yotko, and video and music from recent Chicago performances by the HA!man of South Africa.
