As people read poetry from other artists, Kuypers pulled out of her wallet the laminated copy of Carolyn Forché’s prose poem “the Colonel” to see if they wanted to her this piece. It is the first prose poem Kuypers ever read, and it inspired her to write prose poems, as well as start writing prose. |
