We Walked These Miles Together Ernest Poulos Some miles on broad paved streets with ease, Some miles on narrow uphill paths. Some roads were forked and separated us at times, Some miles overgrown with trees. Highways and potholes and hazardous curves, Dirt roads with puddles and bad weather, These miles we walked formed an everlasting bond, Because we walked these miles together. OPTIONAL STANZA: If we could start our walk anew, I would lead you on highways well lit. We would coast on a level path as though, It was paved with greased owl shit.
