can we stop the wheels from turning?
the constant rotation leaves my mind whirring.
my brain and my body are always at odds,
hot iron burns the back of my neck,
cold sweat pools in my rattling hands.
will this continue forever?
will i always be left in the blackening thoughts,
strung from two lengths of string
passed between what was and will be?
will i ever grow strong enough
to make it through the depths?
will i grow old enough to realise this as me,
a futile necessity of survival?
will i ever hold peace in my hands again?
or will i become one with my thoughts,
a creature of anger and anxiety,
so lost he would never find home
if it lay two steps in front of him?
