kitsch when “woke” Janet Kuypers 10/30/21 In the past people displayed miniature statues of a black man holding up an ashtray, on display for all to enjoy When we’re “woke” boldly proclaiming we’re hating racism we wake to see the exact same statues, with a monkey instead really, are we kitsch with our past mistakes or does being “woke” make us push everyone away in the end
