In the heart of a lie resides the essence of a man,
a propensity to deceit, an inordinate need to camouflage,
to inject the veins of falsehood with the semblance of truth,
to disguise.

In the heart of a lie dwells the ghost that haunts a man’s mind,
the dread of detection, of exposure before the crowds,
of being denuded before the beloved ones.

In the heart of a lie lurks the seeds of self-deception
that blurs the boundaries between reality and an illusory life,
the inability to distinguish between quotations and self-written lines,
between self-love and altruistic bile.
