    you wanted a damsel in distress that you could easily break, but found i was a damphyr you could never stake; you shattered who i was but found that i can rise from the grave on flaming wings burning yesterdays in my wake—it is why you abandoned me so easily because i was the dragon you knew you didn’t have the power to slay, and the immortal phoenix you could never claim; and so you ran because that’s what all cowards do—i know you’re writing a story where you’re the hero and i’m the villain, but i must be the villain that wins because you would never dare to cross me; i warned you long ago that my temper was a torrent but you told me she was nothing to fear—do you fear her now? now that she’s burning in every sunset you see, scorching your eyes with memories of me and every way you failed me; do you feel her now with the moon scowling upon your flesh wishing you the worst of nightmares; do you feel her now in the unhinged screams of night? because if you do, then you’re hearing every haunting you gave me, and i’m not sorry if it tortures your soul.
