They Watched From Their Windows

When I was a younger man, a man of dreams and vision,
I read about the poor woman who was raped.
They watched from their windows and did nothing. It’s
true. It really happened. No one called 911. No one
helped
her.
In the Times, I read about the heinous act that humans
witnessed. Later, we talked about
it
in my psychology
classes.
From above, they watched. Yet no one made the call.
What have we learned since that brutal day?
