August 9th, 2008 (8/9/08)
poetry readings from the Final Jump (with poetry about violence in America and suicide) in a collection of poems called the Final Jump.
Janet Kuypers was be one of the poets featured at Mercury Cafe (1505 West Chicago Avenue, Chicago; scheduled appearance at 4:30-4:40), at her second appearance at Mega poetry (similar in length to her 2/16/08 performance with 1989-2007 mega poetry). A lot of poems in this collection will be talking about violence in America; people’s opinions on gun control, people jumping to the deaths, or even people talking about depression in this disturbing set of poems (and you can also read the pieces read in this show with the release of the chapbook “the Final Jump”).
