[the Writing of Kuypers] [JanetKuypers.com] [Bio] [Poems] [Prose]
i was wondering when nature’s rights were
because, I mean, I care about the environment and all
but I was in a car with an environmentalist once
were largely destroyed in the early nineteen hundreds
said to me, “kill the loggers”
he said he didn’t, but he did, and I wonder if he realizes
i wonder if the loggers would agree with him

loggers
substituted for human rights, somebody tell me
I like trees, and I’m a vegetarian
talking about the national forests, how they
by loggers, but are protected now, and this environmentalist
and the thing was, he meant it
what he’s willing to sacrifice for what he thinks is right
