Just so Others can Feel

Janet Kuypers
11/18/19, written during
National Novel Writing Month

Everyone has a story inside of them

Sometimes you look over your life
and wonder if your life is a soap opera

After you’ve witnessed atrocities,
after you’ve felt indescribable joys —
you’ve wondered, maybe you can

maybe you can describe that joy,
just so others can feel what you felt

isn’t that what novel writing’s all about
