the Café Gallery Book Readings     Starting at The Café in Chicago on Tuesday nights, Janet Kuypers often read poetry from assorted new Scars Publications book releases. When the open mic gained the name The Café Gallery at the Gallery Cabaret in Chicago on Wednesday nights, it started at 7:00 and had to end by 9:00 PM before a music open mic. Host Janet Kuypers often started the open mic when it was right at 7:00 PM — when the audience was low — by reading poetry from assorted new Scars Publications book releases (until there was enough of a crowd to start the open mic). Although The Café Gallery as an open mic ended with Kuypers’ Chicago departure in 2015 (and Dave Gecic too over as host of “Poetry @ the Gallery Cabaret”), and since the Gallery Cabaret was closed in 2020 for the Covid 19 pandemic, The Café Gallery host Janet Kuypers reinstated Tuesday (for The Café) or Wednesday (for The Café Gallery) 7:00 PM book readings, to share books in honor of book readings at this open mic.
