The 2023 Poetry Bomb (one date to read poetry where poetry does’t normally occur, originated by the folks at Waiting 4 the Bus in Chicago) was April 30th 2023 (the last Sunday of April, starting at 3:30 in the afternoon CST, wherever you are). Janet Kuypers moved to Austin Texas, but continues performing poetry on this date in various locations, and this year Janet Kuypers, because CyberWit.net recently published her poetry anthology “Testament”, chose to read poetry from Part Three of “Testament” reflective of the first book in the Old Testament of the Holy Bible (chapters 1-19) outdoors in front of St. Mary’s Cathedral in downtown Austin. The live 2023 Poetry Bomb was released as a Facebook live video stream, and was also recorded on multiple camera for later YouTube uploads.     Also, because the Branch Davidian compound 30-year anniversary of the Waco siege was on 4/19 (and the compound is closed on Sunday during the poetry Bomb), Kuypers chose to read poetry (closer TO the anniversary) from Part Three of “Testament” reflective of Genesis, the first book in the Old Testament of the Holy Bible (chapters 22-49), as well as select poems to close the book in Part Four of “Testament” reflective of Revelation, the last book in the New Testament of the Holy Bible. Videos filmed from outside their pool at the compound with her smartphone were posted a Facebook video uploads during the time for the 2023 Poetry Bomb, and additional camera recordings of these readings (all in Waco on a very windy day) were later released as YouTube videos of her reading poetry, so these readings can be seen and heard (even if you were unable to see live readings for the 2023 Poetry Bomb) at any time.
