The poetry of Chicago Poet Janet Kuypers has been combined with the musicial genius of the HA!Man of South Africa in this collection of mp3 files. The combination of softly spoken poetry blends well with the cello, piano and orchestra accompaniment from past CDs and productions from the HA!Man himself.
Below you will find mp3 files of the poetry from Chicago Poet Janet Kuypers mixed with original music from the HA!Man of South Africa. Also included in each listing are links to web pages with the original writings as well as links to vocal tracks used in the creation of these performance pieces.
Music from the HA!Man of South Africa was used for music in the 09/09/08 Janet Kuypers performance art show “Seeing a Psychiatrist,” so some of the pieces below are being created for (and appear in) a live 09/09/08 Chicago performance art show from Janet Kuypers. For these pieces there are sometimes both long versions and edited versions to match the length they were performed at live. After the performnce (09/09/08), the live tracks became available as not only CD-quality mp3 files, but also as YouTube videos for viewing. Two thirds of the live tracks have also been released as low-resolution audio tracks for computer systems that cannot read mp3 files, like .aif for Macintosh, .au for Linux or .wav for Windows.
In March 2010, Scars Publications released the 3 CD set Burn Through Me, which now contains the majority of tracks on this page. (the Album Seeing a Psychiatrist also contains multiple tracks from Janet Kuypers and the HA!man of South Africa). For these tracks, samples are listed below, along with links to ordering the full tracks through iTunes.
