Valentine’s Day, Every DayJanet Kuypers2/14/19
Once you traded my snow-soaked socks through sandals
I know there was snow, but I wanted to do this for you...
I said I had to stop. I couldn’t do it. But during our return
That is when you picked me up and started carrying me
yes, I want to do things for you, but I think it’s abundantly
And I may be the first to say that selfishness is a virtue,
things for you, because seeing you happy makes me happy.
So what do I need a Hallmark holiday for in the first place.
flowers or chocolates. In fact, after knowing you for less
you bought me a map because you knew I traveled.
thought you were a fool. But you even remembered
I asked you if it was okay if I kept it wrapped in its tube
You remembered that I said this to you, after knowing you
what do I need an economic gift-giving holiday for anyway.
And since the beginning, I have loved you. Every day.
