A Wake-Up Call From Tradition is volume two of the collection book series of the writing (and occasional artwork) from Janet Kuypers which has been in issues of cc&d magazine over the history of cc&s’s existence (since its founding, June 1993).
As a part of a three-book series (all released in 2009), this book contains material from issue #070 through issue #133, as well as Kuypers’ writing which appeared in the collection books Rinse & Repeat (which contains issues #105-116), the 2001 private printing collection book Warm & Fuzzy, the 2001 book Survive & Thrive, the 2002 book Torture & Triumph and the 2002 “sideways” collection book oh..
This is volume 2 of the 3 volume set of book releases of these writings — the first collection book (volume 1) of these writings is in the book Finally, Literature for the Snotty and Elite (which was released originally as a 6"x9" set released as volume 1 and volume 2finished book volume).
The cover of the book Finally, Literature for the Snotty and Elite was titled after issue #059 (where the issue had the same title). The cove for this book, a Wake-Up Call From Tradition, is fashioned after issue #082 (where the issue had the same title). The third volume in the set, titled “the one thing the government still has no control over,” uses the headline from issue #094 and the background cover image from issue #134.
Below is a listing of all of the writings in this volume (plus links to the issues these writings appears in). In this listing of published writings, not all of the pieces published in issues may be listed here, because some pieces were used in more than one issue (and for clarity sake, the volume lists the writing in only one location, though some pieces are repeated in additional issues).

The back cover background image is a continuation of the front cover image, but the Polaroid-styled images of kuypers holding issues of cc&d magazine in a fan is originally from the “It’s art. It’s a classic. Submit to it.” photo series photographed at Lake Michigan with a Minolta Maxxum 5000 35 mm camera — but the cc&d covers placed in these three colorized image alterations were from covers of cc&d where Kuypers’ image appeared on the magazine front cover.
