Chapter 48 (v1)

“Chapter 48 (v1)” (title based on the first chapbook Kuypers ever released, “Chapter 18”) was designed as a continuation of a collection book series of poetry that has appeared in past performance art shows. The previous three-volume set of books, “Chapter 38 (v1)”, “Chapter 38 (v2)” and the bonus book “Chapter 38 (v3)”, were published in 2008. In light of the decade that has passed since those books, performances at Chicago shows (now that performance artist & poet Janet Kuypers has relocated to Austin, Texas) and a select few Austin shows, are highlighted in “Chapter 48 (v1)” (with shows from 2009-2011) and “Chapter 48 (v2)” (with shows from 2011-2018).
Kuypers continues writing, even specifically for performance art shows, and her CD releases of performance art shows (studio and live) are available online at iTunes, Amazon and other locations.

Though there may be some duplicate poems over 5 books, some poems are not in this collection because the poems were either (A) performed in another show in this specific book, or (B) were in another volume in the Chapter series of performance art books (2 volumes of Chapter 48 or 3 volumes of Chapter 38). Rarely a poem is repeated in this entire collection of 5 volumes, due to the relevance of the individual poem. Also, shows that have appeared in other books are not included in this collection.
